So you are a manager and an introvert?
I get it.
It is sometimes hard for you to give and receive feedback. And you don’t want to get started on engaging in difficult conversations. You dread those monthly meetings and tend to second-guess if you should speak up or not, and when you do, you ruminate and overanalyze your delivery. Despite all that, you do like being a manager💗. You like to be supportive and be the manager you wish you had. But sometimes, when anxiety hits you like a ton of bricks, you doubt that this is really your calling.
Hello, I am Gloria 👋🏻, and I believe that managers who are introverts can be confident, assertive, and good communicators.
You think you have done it all?
You’ve probably read a bunch of self-help books, enrolled in a public speaking club, and asked colleagues for advice. It all seemed reasonable, but when you were faced with real situations at work, you reverted to your old habits of just freezing and hoping it all goes away.
The truth is we have been made to believe there is a model of a manager that everyone should follow. That manager would, of course, have an extrovert personality, the kind that feeds off social interactions and that everyone wants to be friends with.
The reality is not as simple. By following this cookie-cutter approach, the world is missing out on another spectrum of positive leadership.
That leader is you . We just need to work on getting the courage to let it shine.
I know how hard it can be. I know this because I was you.
Letting the loudest voices call the shots, doubting myself, and feeling crummy and inadequate. People-pleasing was my go-to, and I figured that if I acted like I had everything under control, everything would eventually be “okay”. As you can imagine, that was unsustainable.
Despite my seemingly perfect life, prioritizing others and neglecting myself made me lose sight of my true identity and purpose. Sacrificing my happiness for the sake of others left me feeling hollow and numb.
Life circumstances then led me to hit rock bottom—losing my mom (my rock), my job, and my marriage all within six months. I found myself at the bottom of a dark hole, and at that point, I felt like I had nothing left to lose and realized I still had me.
I faced two choices: stay there and feel sorry for myself or get my act together and climb out.
I began to realize that I held the key 🗝️to my own future, and that being myself was exactly what the world needed. It was a revelation that empowered me to take control of my life and never compromise my own values or self-worth again. I ultimately learned to forgive and move forward. I decided to stay true to myself and never give up on my dreams.
I found the power to shape my own destiny and create the life I was meant to live—unapologetically.
So here I am to tell you that the world also needs you.
A leader who is compassionate, people-centric, and understands others. You just need a little encouragement and the right tools to have confidence in yourself, and that’s where I come in.
I am here to help you get there.
